Landmannalaugar hiking tour
Situated in the Fjallabak Nature Reserve in the highlands of Iceland, Landmannalaugar is a place of wonder. The name refers to the natural geothermal baths "The People's Pools" that are there for everyone to enjoy. Surrounded by colourful mountains, glacial rivers and dramatic lava, the hiking trails criss-cross an area that belongs to one of the last wildernesses of Europe. This area is enjoyable in all types of weather, as long as you are well equipped and ready to breathe in the clean mountain air.
We travel through the fertile farmlands of the south, and arrive in the rugged wilderness of Landmannalaugar around 13:00. The hiking roundtrip takes about 4 hours. You will experience the landscape, walk the natural uninhabited terrain and end with a bath in one of the thermal pools. After a refreshing geothermal soak, we head back to the city at around 17:00.
